Serving ~ Sharing the journey
JOIN US AT CHURCH OR ON FACEBOOK FOR WORSHIP! We will be livestreaming the worship service through FACEBOOK. Access this service on our Facebook page: HAMILTON FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH by clicking the green Access the FACEBOOK Livestream of Worship tab on our Homepage. We will be livestreaming the service at 10:00 a.m. Once recorded, the video will stay on the page and can be accessed at a later time and date if you so choose.
The church office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-1pm. Pastor Brianne works Monday-Thursday. She is typically at the church during office hours for drop-in conversations, but she is also available outside of office hours for appointments or home visits.
Join us for Worship at 10am and Fellowship at 11am! Each week, we’ll have coffee fellowship at 11am, but stay tuned for additional ways of gathering including mission projects and adult education. We fellowship over coffee, we invite visitors into that fellowship, and we participate in missions together. We hope you will join us as we explore living out our mission together - “Alive in God’s Love and Grace: Welcoming, Worshiping, Serving, Sharing the Journey.”
We are nearing the end of the Easter Season, and as we shared last Sunday, these last few stories from Acts are important ones for our faith. This Sunday we’ll hear the story of Jesus’ Ascension in Act 1:6-11 and next Sunday we’ll hear the story of Pentecost.
Why does Jesus’ ascension matter for our faith? Well, Jesus’ ascension into heaven is like his coronation. God exalts Jesus because of his sacrifice for us. As Jesus ascends to heaven, he takes his rightful place in the throne room of God as the ruler of all creation. Because he is the king, Jesus has the right to tell us to love our neighbor. Because he is our Savior, we willingly follow. Join us for worship this Sunday at 10am as we celebrate our servant king!
Blessings, Pastor Brianne
